How to Prepare for and Vote on a Resolution
Our Cat Herder sends an email notification when you are invited to vote on or view a decision. You can access decisions by clicking the link in the notification email, or by navigating to Decisions from the left menu.
Decisions are listed under Active (open for voting) and Past (voting closed).

Voting on a Proposal
Click on the link in the email or navigate to Decisions to find the proposal.
Review the decision details, including the purpose, background, and recommendations.
Check the Vote by date and any attached documents.
Click the Vote button to cast your vote.
Choose from the available voting options. The defaults are Yes, No, and Abstain, but your Admin may have configured different options for a specific decision.
Once your vote is cast, it cannot be changed. If you need to change your vote, contact your Admin — they can remove and re-invite you so you can vote again, provided voting has not closed.
View as PDF
You can select View as PDF to download, share, print, or annotate the details of the proposal. You can also cast your vote from the PDF view.
Comments and Notes
- Comments — visible to all voters and viewers on the decision. Adding a comment sends a notification to all invitees.
- Private Notes — visible only to you. You can optionally email yourself a copy.
What are Flying Minutes?
Flying minutes (also called circular resolutions) are a method used to record decisions made outside of a board meeting. These resolutions are often needed for time-sensitive decisions or when there isn’t enough business to justify a full meeting.
Our Cat Herder allows you to vote at any time, even in between regular board meetings. For more information about how to call flying minutes, read this Flying Minutes article.
I Can’t See the Vote Button
Invitees without permission to vote will not see a Vote button. If you can’t see the button, there are two possibilities:
You have been invited as a viewer, not a voter.
The Vote by date has already passed.
When the vote by date passes, voting is locked and can no longer be accessed.
