Managing Your Details

You are able to manage your own account details in Our Cat Herder by logging into your OCH account and and heading to https://ourcatherder.com/users/me or clicking your name at the top of the screen and selecting "My Details" from the drop down menu.

On the "My Details" page you can add or edit the following:

  • Your name
  • Your email
  • Secondary email
  • Phone
  • Mobile
  • Address
  • Whether PDFs you view in OCH open in a new tab/window or a new modal (overlayed over the window you are in)

  • Turn on 2FA (MFA or 2 Step Verification)

  • If you are a member of multiple portals this page will also list these and allow you to choose which to navigate to.

Secondary Email

This can be used for login (with your primary email) or simply for notifications for a specific portal.

Change or Update My Email

Once you have activated your account you can edit your email by navigating to your My Details (https://ourcatherder.com/users/me) page.

Scroll to "Email" and select the (change) link next to your email. Follow the instructions. You will be required to confirm your email update via the email address that was originally listed (this is a security feature). However if you no longer have access to the currently listed email please contact support@ourcatherder.com

Can my portal admin edit my email for me?

If your individual account is only linked to one Our Cat Herder portal it is possible for the portal admin to update your email (they cannot modify anything else).

However if your individual account is connected to more than one Our Cat Herder portal is expected behaviour that a portal admin cannot update a member's email once a member has activated their account.

Once an account is active and that user is connected to more than one Our Cat herder portal the user becomes responsible for managing their details rather than the admin. The reason for this that users on Our Cat Herder can be added to multiple portals and if multiple admin's started changing a users details for them it could get messy. This is also one of Our Cat Herders many security/privacy features as allowing Admin's to change a users email could create a scenario where the admin of one portal has access to other portals.
